How to get a Indonesia virtual number
-
Choose the platform
Pick the service you need from the Indonesia list below and see its price.
-
Take a Indonesia number
The number is assigned to you alone and is never reused for the same service.
-
Read the code
The incoming verification code appears in your panel. If no code arrives, the charge returns to your balance automatically.
Why is Indonesia the cheapest country?
Line supply in Indonesia is very wide and the per-operator cost is low. Put together, the average price lands well below countries such as Turkey and the United States. Platform variety is not narrow either — as the table shows, coverage is broad.
The practical consequence: if the service does not care about the country code — and most global apps do not — choosing an Indonesian line is a direct saving. Paying several times more for the identical verification buys you nothing.
What do our users verify here?
The overwhelming majority of Indonesian lines go to WhatsApp, followed by Telegram and Google/Gmail. Anyone searching for a cheap WhatsApp number effectively ends up at this country.
Is there a cost to being cheap?
Honest answer: sometimes. On the lowest-priced lines the chance of the verification completing on the first attempt can be slightly lower than on expensive countries. If getting it done in one go matters to you, picking a country commonly used on that platform will involve less back and forth.
But the risk is not financial: if no code arrives the charge returns to your balance automatically. Trying costs nothing but time.
How the number is delivered
The number appears in your panel the moment you order. The incoming verification code is listed on the same screen — no app install, no forwarding to your phone. The number is assigned to you alone and is never issued again for the same service.
The +62 dialling code and the Indonesian phone number format
An Indonesian phone number carries the country code +62. Mobile lines begin with 08 when written at home — 0812, 0857, 0896 and so on — and the zero is dropped internationally, so the same line reads +62 812 and the rest.
Length varies more than in Europe. Depending on the operator and the range, an Indonesian mobile can run from nine to twelve digits after the leading 8, and all of those are valid. Forms that assume a fixed length occasionally reject a good number for that reason, so copy what the panel shows rather than padding it out or cutting it short.
The prefix after the 8 identifies the network: separate blocks belong to Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, XL Axiata and Smartfren. You do not need to choose between them — the platform you are registering with sees only a valid Indonesian mobile, and any of the operators carries the message the same way.
Which services an Indonesia virtual number works for
The natural fit is the large group of global platforms that never look at the country code at all: messengers, social networks, mail providers, marketplaces, game accounts. For those, an Indonesian line does exactly what a far more expensive one would do, which is the whole argument for this page.
The second group is Indonesian-facing services — local marketplaces, ride-hailing and delivery apps, regional campaigns — where the form is fixed to +62 and nothing else passes. A local line is the requirement there, not a saving.
The third group is the limit that exists in every country: platforms that recognise pooled ranges and refuse them. No provider in this market gets round that check. What stays fixed on our side is the money — if no code arrives, the charge does not stick, so a failed attempt costs you a minute rather than balance.
Why local banking and e-wallets will not work
Indonesian prepaid SIM cards are registered against a national identity number and a family card record, and the operator keeps that registration on file. Banks and the large local e-wallets build on it directly: the account is bound to a registered subscriber, and the one-time code goes to that subscriber number rather than to whatever line you type in.
A pooled line has no registration behind it, so the check fails before any message is sent — and for wallets that hold a balance, that is by design rather than an oversight. The same goes for government services and anything that confirms an identity rather than an account. Use your own registered line there, and keep virtual numbers for sign-ups and short-lived verifications.
Why the pool changes during the day
The table on this page is read from live inventory on every page load rather than typed by hand. Lines are taken and returned continuously, so a platform with no Indonesian stock right now may have some shortly; coming back usually beats retrying the same order over and over.
Price follows carrier cost and nothing else. A cheap country is one where carrying a short message is cheap, and Indonesia is the clearest example of that in our inventory. Because the cost itself moves through the day, a figure can differ from the one you saw last week without anything changing on your account. Current numbers for every country are on the price list.
Single-use number or a rental?
A single-use number is reserved for one code window and then returns to the pool. That suits a registration, a one-off verification, or an account you will not be asked to confirm again. It does not suit anything that comes back for the same number later — a password reset, a sign-in from a new device, a driver ringing you about a delivery.
Because Indonesian lines are the cheap end of the list, people sometimes buy several instead of thinking about this, but the number of lines is not the issue: once a window closes, no later message reaches that line at any price. If you intend to keep the account, open it with a single-use number and move the account onto a line of your own, an email address or an authenticator app in the same session. What each option covers is set out on our virtual number page.
Common error messages
- "Nomor tidak valid" or "Invalid phone number" — usually the leading zero. After +62 the number starts at the 8.
- "Nomor sudah terdaftar" — the line has been used on that platform before. Cancel and take a new one; the amount comes back to your balance.
- "Code could not be sent" — the platform has identified the range and declined it. Another Indonesian line rarely changes that; a different country sometimes does.
- Nothing appears in the panel — check that the service you selected when ordering matches the platform you are registering with. Choose the wrong one and the message goes to another queue while your number stays silent.
If Indonesia is out of stock
Stock on the cheapest country drains fastest, which is the one real drawback of starting here. The fix is not to wait: move one rung up the list. For a global platform that ignores the country code, a +44 British line is the usual next step, with wide coverage and a price still well under the expensive countries.
If the form does demand +62, then waiting and checking again is the only route, because no other country satisfies that check. Either way the order of questions is the same: does the service require a specific country, and if not, what is the lowest figure currently on the list?
Legal and safe use
An Indonesian virtual number is for registering without handing over your personal line, opening a second account where the platform allows it, or completing a verification that will not be repeated. Opening accounts in someone else name, fraud and spam are against our terms of use and grounds for closing your account.
Messages sent to the number are visible only in your own session. Once the transaction ends the line returns to the pool and past messages cannot be retrieved — not by the next person who takes it, and not by you.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Line supply in Indonesia is wide and operator cost is low, which keeps the average price well below many other countries.
Drop the leading zero. A mobile written locally as 0812 and the rest becomes +62 812 and the rest. Indonesian mobile ranges vary in length, so enter the number exactly as the panel shows it.
The large majority of our Indonesian lines go to WhatsApp verification. Enter the number and read the incoming code in your panel. How long the account lasts depends on WhatsApp's own policy.
No. Indonesian SIM cards are registered against a national identity record, and banks and e-wallets send the code to that registered subscriber number. A pooled line has no registration behind it.
Not always. On the lowest-priced lines the chance of completing on the first attempt can be slightly lower. There is no financial risk since unused charges are refunded, but it may cost you time.
Yes. The order is cancelled automatically when the window expires and the amount returns to your SMSVAR balance. No support ticket needed.
No. Where you buy from makes no difference; the verification code appears in your panel. All that matters is that the service you are verifying does not check the country code.
