Google, Gmail and YouTube share one verification

Opening a Gmail address, creating a YouTube channel and registering a Google account are in fact the same operation: all three attach to a Google account. You therefore do not need to hunt for separate services in the panel. The Google / YouTube / Gmail option covers all of them.

Google does not always ask for a number at sign-up. Verification becomes mandatory when a session looks suspicious, when many accounts are created from the same device, or in certain countries.

How to get a number

  1. Add credit and open the panel.
  2. Pick Google / YouTube / Gmail as the service, then the country.
  3. Enter the number in the Google phone verification field, with the country code and no leading zero.
  4. Read the six-digit code, which normally starts with G-, from the panel and type it in.

The whole flow normally takes a minute or two. A gmail virtual number is reserved for you alone while the transaction is open, so the gmail verification code that arrives on it is visible in your session and nobody else.

A verification number is not a recovery number

Your Google account has two separate phone fields, and confusing them is the single most common mistake. The verification number is used once, at sign-up, to confirm that a human is behind the request. The recovery number is a permanent backup, used when you have lost access to the account.

Never leave a temporary number in the recovery field. Once it returns to the pool, Google will keep sending recovery codes to a line you can no longer read. Put your own permanent number or a second email address there instead.

The first two weeks of a new account

Google applies a settling-in period to newly created accounts, during which some functions are deliberately limited:

  • The number of emails you can send per day is low.
  • Sending to large recipient lists can be blocked outright.
  • Some Google services ask for an extra verification step.
  • Opening the account on a new device can trigger another identity check.

These limits lift over time. Heavy use immediately after sign-up is the single most common trigger for a fresh verification request, so give the account a few quiet days.

Device prompts replace SMS after the first sign-in

If the account is signed in on an Android device or in the Gmail app, Google sends a prompt to that device at sign-in instead of an SMS, and asks you to tap the matching number on screen. That flow needs no phone line at all.

So if you keep an account opened with a temporary number signed in on one device, later sign-ins never need SMS. In practice this is the most reliable way of holding on to access.

Authenticator app and backup codes

Because the number is not permanent, do not build two-step verification on SMS. The correct order is:

  1. Open the account and complete verification.
  2. Go to Google Account, then Security, then 2-Step Verification.
  3. Add an authenticator app.
  4. Download and store the backup codes.
  5. Remove the temporary number from the recovery field.

Once those five steps are done, the number going back into the pool has no effect on your account at all.

YouTube and the other Google services

A verified account is valid across every Google service: YouTube, Drive, Play Store, Google Ads. None of them asks for a separate SMS verification.

There is one exception. Turning on live streaming, uploading longer videos and using custom thumbnails require the channel itself to be verified by phone. That is a separate step from account verification, and it cannot be done with the same number, because a single number can only verify a limited number of channels.

When Google will not accept the number

Google declines certain number ranges for verification and shows this phone number cannot be used for verification. The warning does not mean the number is broken; it means Google has not admitted that range to its list.

The answer is not to wait but to try a number from a different country. Cancel the transaction when you see the warning; an unused number is refunded to your balance, so trying two or three costs nothing.

How many accounts can one number verify?

Google caps how many accounts a single number is allowed to verify. When the cap is reached the sign-up form reports that this phone number has been used too many times and refuses the number.

On a recycled number that quota has often been spent by a previous holder. When you see that message, cancel and take another number; waiting will not change the outcome, because the counter belongs to the line rather than to your session.

Google services that ask for more than a phone code

Account verification is enough for most services, but a few require identity or payment checks on top:

  • Google Ads — billing details and sometimes an identity document.
  • Play Console — identity verification for the developer account.
  • Google Cloud — a payment card check.
  • YouTube monetisation — an address verification code sent by post.

None of these is an SMS step, so an account opened with a temporary number will need real documents at those stages.

App passwords for mail clients

If you plan to use the account from Outlook, Thunderbird or a server, your ordinary password will not work. With two-step verification enabled, Google asks you to generate an app password instead.

The path is Google Account, then Security, then App passwords, and it gives you a sixteen-character password. That password is independent of the phone number and keeps working after the number returns to the pool.

Reviewing signed-in devices

Google Account, Security, Your devices lists everything currently attached to the account, and anything you do not recognise can be signed out from there.

On an account opened with a recycled number it is worth checking that list occasionally, to be sure no session related to a previous holder is lingering.

Deleting an account, and getting it back

A deleted Google account can be restored for a short period afterwards. Restoration usually asks for verification, and with a temporary number that route is already closed to you.

Download the backup codes during first setup and store them somewhere safe: the recovery flow accepts a backup code, which makes it the practical safety net for an account created this way.

Handing an account to somebody else

Google accounts cannot officially be transferred, and sharing a password breaches the terms of service. For business use the right approach is Google Workspace: open an administrator account and create users from there.

Workspace verification runs through your domain, so you are never tied to a personal phone line. If you need a lot of mailboxes for a company, this is both cheaper and more sustainable than opening individual Gmail accounts, and password resets are handled by the administrator rather than by SMS.

Which country?

Google does not restrict the country of the number. The choice affects price and availability. Some country prefixes are rejected by Google verification more often than others, and those rates shift during the day, so if one country fails the practical move is to try another from the list.

If the code never arrives

If no code reaches the number before the window closes, the transaction is cancelled and the amount is credited back to your balance. Unused numbers are not charged for, and there is nothing for you to claim.

Where the figures on this page come from

The country count and the starting price are not typed by hand; they are read from our own inventory on every page load, so the figure you see is the live position. Because google account verification will not accept the same number for many accounts in quick succession, this pool turns over fast, which makes the price gap between countries more visible than on other platforms.

Current figures for every platform are on the price list, and how the service works in general is explained on our virtual number page.
