Uber verification

Uber registration starts with a phone number, and a four-digit code is sent to it. The same account covers both Uber and Uber Eats; no separate registration is needed.

How to get a number

  1. Add credit and open the panel.
  2. Pick the Uber service, then the country.
  3. Enter the number in the app with the country code.
  4. Read the code from the panel and type it into the app.

Your number during a ride

Uber uses your number so the driver can reach you. A virtual number does not receive incoming calls and returns to the pool after the transaction. If you are actually going to take rides, you have to set your own reachable number on the account; otherwise the driver cannot contact you.

This is the most common limitation people run into with virtual numbers on Uber, and it is worth knowing before you buy.

Country choice

Uber does not restrict the country of the number, but the city you are served in is determined by your location in the app. The country of the number does not change where you can hail a car.

If the code never arrives

If the window closes without a code, the transaction is cancelled and the fee is credited back to your balance.
