Google, Gmail and YouTube share one verification

Opening a Gmail address, creating a YouTube channel and registering a Google account are in fact the same operation: all three attach to a Google account. You therefore do not need to hunt for separate services in the panel. The Google / YouTube / Gmail option covers all of them.

Google does not always ask for a number at sign-up. Verification becomes mandatory when a session looks suspicious, when many accounts are created from the same device, or in certain countries.

How to get a number

  1. Add credit and open the panel.
  2. Pick Google / YouTube / Gmail as the service, then the country.
  3. Enter the number in Google phone verification field.
  4. Read the six-digit code, which normally starts with G-, from the panel and type it in.

Does Google tie the number to the account permanently?

A number supplied at sign-up is not permanently attached unless you add it as a recovery number. Google may still ask you to re-verify in some situations. On an account you plan to keep, adding a recovery email address and an authenticator app removes any dependence on the phone number.

Which country?

Google does not restrict the country of the number. The choice affects price and availability. Some country prefixes are rejected by Google verification more often than others, and those rates shift during the day, so if one country fails the practical move is to try another from the list.

If the code never arrives

If no code reaches the number before the window closes, the transaction is cancelled and the amount is credited back to your balance. Unused numbers are not charged for.
