Amazon registration can be completed with an email address; phone verification is mostly requested during a sign-in security check, when you sign in from a new device, or when you open a seller account. A six-digit code is sent to the number.
Amazon runs a separate site for each country (amazon.com, amazon.de, amazon.co.uk and so on), but the account is shared across most regions.
How to get a number
- Add credit and open the panel.
- Pick the Amazon service, then the country.
- Enter the number with its country code in the Amazon phone field.
- Read the code from the panel and submit it.
Orders and delivery
Amazon uses your number so a courier can reach you at delivery. A virtual number does not receive incoming calls and returns to the pool once the transaction ends. If you are genuinely going to place orders, set your own reachable number on the account.
Seller accounts
An Amazon seller application requires identity, tax and bank account verification. A virtual number only covers the SMS step; it does not cover those document steps.
If the code never arrives
If the window closes without a code, the transaction is cancelled and the amount is credited back to your balance.
